Bill Harris

Bill is a 1980 graduate of Whittier College with a BA in Business Administration.

Bill worked for Fireplace Manufacturers, Inc., of Santa Ana, California, from 1979 to 1999. Starting in sales and moving to President / CEO in 1983, Bill helped grow FMI into a $30 million manufacturing company until it’s sale in 1998, for $27 million.

The company completed it’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 1984 allowing it to grow and succeed as a supplier of wood and gas burning fireplaces to the home building industry throughout North America, Europe, Middle East and Japan. He helped implement Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing philosophy into FMI and promoted JIT through various seminars and industry meetings.

Bill along with his partners started Masonry Fireplace Industries, LLC, in May 2005. The Company manufactures modular concrete fireplaces, marketed as “Mason-lite” to the custom and higher end home builders as well as masonry supply outlets throughout the country.

Bill has served as a board member with many non-profit groups, such as Orange County ARC (now My Day Counts), Boys and Girls Club of Santa Ana, Vanguard University Foundation, Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, Brethren Community Foundation and Whittier College’s Poet Council. Bill currently serves as Treasurer for both the Brethren Community Foundation and the Hearth Patio and Barbeque Association California affiliate, HPBA Pacific.

John Hornsby

John graduated from Radford University in Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in business management with a minor in geology.

John has over 40 years of business experience. This experience has been with both public and private corporations. John started in the Fireplace business in 1978 at Fireplace Manufacturers (FMI) in Santa Ana, California. John was a major shareholder and held many positions  at the company. John left FMI in 1998 and FMI was acquired by another company that became Innovative  Hearth Products (IHP).

In 2006 Bill Harris and John started Masonry Fireplace Industries (Mason-Lite) MFI

John is currently involved two companies: MFI that  manufactures  Mason-Lite fireplaces and products  that are distributed throughout the United States. He is an owner as well as a managing partner. John also is a partner and owner in Hornsby Properties, LLC. This company owns and manages real estate in San Diego, CA.

John serves on two nonprofit boards of directors. One is the Brethren Community Foundation. Service on this board has been since 2009. He is currently the President of BCF.  The other non-profit is Southern California Housing Services, serving as a board member since 2002.

John is active in the community and beyond. Some of the organizations he supports are the Brethren Community Foundation, Global partners for Development, The Boys and Girls Club, Improve Your Tomorrow, Kiwanis, Radford University, FAME, The YMCA,  among others.

Damon Hernandez

Damon Hernandez has been working in manufacturing for the past 33 years. He began working in manufacturing as a General Laborer and worked through the ranks to become plant manager. Working to help the company grow and achieve their goals.

Before working with Masonry Fireplace Industries, Inc. Damon worked with Empire products manufacturing barbecues and hearth products. These products included but were not limited to stainless steel barbecues, stoves, and gas logs. As part of managing the manufacturing Damon worked with engineers to develop products, perform testing on new products, worked with testing agencies to implement quality control procedures, and the recording of all data.

In 2007 Damon left Empire products to work with Masonry Fireplace industries. With Damon’s experience in manufacturing and hearth products he has helped establish Masonry Fireplace Industries as a leader in lightweight modular masonry fireplaces.

Damon is a partner with Masonry Fireplace industries, Inc. and his responsibilities include the complete operation of our factory.

Jake Hornsby

Jake Hornsby started at Mason-Lite as an internship for his Senior Year at San Diego State University involving revitalizing and re-branding the website. After his graduation with a degree in business management, he came on part time for a short period increasing his knowledge of the products offered.

After transitioning to full time, his experience grew to many fields including:  Research & Development of new products, performing UL standard testing, Multiple marketing projects and platforms, Internal and External Technical Training, Custom unit product offering expansion and much more.  Jake Has been on two episodes of DYI networks Desperate Landscapes.  Jake is in charge of marketing shows and improved  developed  the website for Mason-Lite and Toscana Direct.

Jake’s eight years of experience at Masonry Fireplace Industries has made him an expert in the Mason-Lite product and how to best sell it. Jake is now a partner in Masonry Fireplace Industries Inc.

Chuy Cabellero

Jesus Caballero started at Mason-Lite in 2013 as a contract employee through Pro-Cast a precast concrete company, He started in the custom area, where he poured and dry stacked all the custom fireplaces that were ordered.  After coming on full time to Mason-Lite his experience grew and after about a year he was promoted to leadsman in the Custom Fireplace area, where he continued to make sure custom fireplace was created to specifications, created in a timely manner and packaged for shipment.

Jesus was shortly afterward promoted to Assistant Manager of the Mason-Lite factory/warehouse, assuring the product Mason-Lite produced and shipped from the Mason-Lite Factory meets our customers’ high standards.  Whether it is Mason-lite standard size fireplace, our Custom fireplaces or brick panels, he helps make sure the orders are pulled and shipped to our customers.

Christine Reilly

With over 30 years of outside sales and account management experience, and 15 years of experience in the hearth industry, Christine is a diligent, dedicated and results-driven professional. Christine came on board with Mason-Lite in 2015. She worked with Regency Fireplaces for 10 years prior to Mason-Lite.

Christine’s strengths include new account acquisition and retention throughout the North American market. While Sales Representative is her official function, Christine excels in customer service and relations. She has played an integral part in the growth at Mason-Lite during her tenure at Mason-Lite.


Joey Haddix

Joey has over 28 years of business experience in the construction materials industry managing sales and operations on the local, regional and national levels. He started in the modular masonry fireplace business in 1992 as a sales  rep and from 1995-2000 was a Regional Sales Manager over the Texas market. From 2000 to 2015 he was a Divisional Manager leading distributor sales in seven states with responsibility for three office locations and conducting American Institute of Architects continuing education (CE’s) classes. In December 2015, he was hired as the National Strategic Accounts Manager with BASF Corporation managing sales of construction chemicals to ready-mix producers across the US. Four years removed from the fireplace industry, in October 2019, Joey came onboard as our Director of Sales.

Joey is responsible for growing market share by increasing distribution networks, expanding product offerings and effectively communicating our value proposition. As a technical expert, he accomplishes this by partnering with channel sales to understand their business needs and objectives as well as analyzing construction trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions.

Joey graduated summa cum laude from LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. For several years he was a volunteer with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and currently helps coach his two sons youth football, baseball, and basketball teams.

Garrett Moss

Garrett Moss has been working with Mason-Lite since March of 2018 as a technical service representative and office assistant. He had been previously working as a shipping consultant prior to coming on board with Mason-Lite. This experience in the shipping industry has helped him become a valuable asset to Mason-Lite. His background also includes supervising and working in quality assurance, sales, and manufacturing.

Garrett is currently studying business management at Riverside City College.

During Garrett’s time with Mason-Lite his responsibilities have expanded to office manager, where he currently works in assisting the everyday functions of the business. These functions include but are not limited to customer support, accounting, order processing, and shipping.
