Last month mason-Lite had a great response from our photo contest. We strive to offer our customers with a wide variety of photos for the infinite styles and applications mason-lite is capable of. Due to the difficulty of receiving the photos after the units were finished, we decided to have this photo contest to spark the interest. We received photos of beautiful fireplaces in many different styles and sizes. Some styles that we saw included linear fireplaces, stone finished fireplaces, brick finished fireplaces, marble fireplace facing, and fireplaces with flat screen TVs mounted above. There was also a great variety of installation locations. Some Categories include indoor fireplace installations, outdoor fireplace installations, restaurant installations, rooftop fireplace installations and many more. Made In The USA

Made in the USA

The United States economy is having a tough time recovering from its latest great recession. Mason-Lite is one of the many U.S. Companies affected by this economic downturn. We are persevering and continuing to grow with the U.S. economy. There are many ways to help the economy get back on its feet. Just a few of these include buying products made in the USA, creating jobs in the USA, electing politicians whose decisions are aimed at boosting the economy and many more. At Mason-Lite we are proud that our product is made in the USA.
We strive to help our economy in any way we can.

Mason-Lite Fireplaces are made in the USA and will continue to be made in the USA for generations to come!

Here is a list of the top ten reasons to buy products that are made in the USA.

“10) Foreign labor standards allow unsafe worker conditions in many countries. When you buy American you support not only American manufacturers but also American workers, safe working conditions, and child labor laws.

9) Jobs shipped abroad almost never return. When you buy goods made in the USA, you help keep the American economy growing.

8) US manufacturing processes are much cleaner for the environment than many other countries; many brands sold here are produced in countries using dangerous, heavily polluting processes. When you purchase American-made product, you know that you’re helping to keep the world a little cleaner for your children.

7) Many countries have no minimum wage restrictions, or the minimum wage is outrageously low. When you choose products made in the USA, you contribute to the payment of an honest day’s wages for an honest day’s work.

6) The growing lack of USA ability to manufacture many products is strategically unsound. When you seek out American-made goods, you foster American independence.

5) The huge US trade deficit leads to massive, unsustainable borrowing from other countries. Debt isn’t good for you and it isn’t good for America.

4) Foreign product safety standards are low. For example, poisonous levels of lead are in tens of millions of toys shipped to the USA. When you buy toys and other goods made in the USA, you can be confident that American consumer protection laws and safety standards are in place to protect your family.

3) Lack of minimum wage, worker safety, or environmental pollution controls in many countries undermines the concept of “fair and free trade”. No Western nation can ultimately compete on price with a country willing to massively exploit and pollute its own people. When you buy only American-made products, you insist on a higher standard.

2) Factories and money are shifting to countries not friendly to the USA or democracy. When you avoid imported goods in favor of American-made items, you help ensure that the United States doesn’t find its access to vital goods impacted by political conflict.

1) As the US manufacturing ability fades, future generations of US citizens will be unable to find relevant jobs. Buy American and help keep your friends and neighbors-and even yourself-earning a living wage.”(Lipscomb)

We would like to thank you for your support and let you know that We are a company that is supporting the US Economy.

B-Vent Fireplaces

October 30, 2012

More and more of the US is moving towards Gas Burning Fireplaces, in certain areas they are the required rather than wood burning fireplaces.  To those new to the B-vent fireplace systems, they are most easily described as a fireplace with reduced emissions due to the amount of BTUs put out by the burner, which in turn allows for a smaller B- Vent chimney flue.

The Mason-Lite B-Vent Fireplaces come with a standard 10″ Flue hole,  this is a great advantage when it comes to  projects with reduced framing requirements. Our B-Vent fireplaces all pass the ANSI-Z 21 . 50 Gas Fireplace Standard. Mason-Lite B-Vent Fireplaces come in three standard sizes:

MGFP39 (39″): 65,000 BTU’s (natural gas)

MGFP39 (44″): 65,000 BTU’s (natural gas)

MGFP39 (49″): 80,000 BTU’s (natural gas)

Some advantages to B-vent Fireplaces are that they are much easier to control the amount of fuel that is burned by your fireplace. Also, They do not require a large wood pile in your yard and or house. For jobs that require the advantages of the B vent fireplace Mason-Lite has the answer.

Custom Fireplaces- Past and Future

Custom fireplaces are a growing trend in the United States. Fireplaces are evolving to have many uses above the original purpose of heating a room. Whether it be setting the mood for a romantic night with a loved one, or a display of wealth and creativity in a five star hotel lobby, fireplaces come in all shapes and sizes. Our mission at Mason-Lite is to provide our customers with the perfect fireplace to set the tone and style for their specific needs, even if it requires customization.

History Of Rumford Fireplaces

History of the Rumford Fireplaces

And How Mason-Lite Brings Them To You

Throughout the years Rumford fireplaces have been a staple of traditional fireplace style. Mason-Lite would like to honor such tradition with a brief history of how the Rumford Fireplace came to be and why it has withstood the test of time for over 200 years. The Rumford Fireplace originated in London England in the late 1700‘s. Named after it’s inventor, Count Rumford (Sir Benjamin Thompson), this style of fireplace became highly popular in London for its efficiency. Rumford designed the fireplace so that the firebox was reduced in depth but increased in height. He also reduced the opening to the chimney to aid the flow of air so that the smoke would draw up the chimney instead of into the houses. In reducing the depth of the firebox he angled the back walls to radiate the heat out into the room. The Rumford fireplace is still showing up in houses today; whether it’s the efficiency, the style, or the history, the Rumford Fireplace lives on.

At Mason-Lite, we appreciate the significance of this style and would like to let you know that we have multiple ways of supplying you with your very own Rumford style fireplace. For the tall and narrow firebox look, try one of our standard units with height extensions (sold separately) to increase the height of your fireplace in 8” increments. For the complete Rumford look, fill out our custom order form to your own specification and have our team make your Rumford Fireplace dream a reality.

New Improved Quality

March 24, 2012

Masonry Fireplace Industries

Press Release For Immediate Release

LOGO ML
Masonry Fireplace Industries is pleased to announce changes in production methods starting in March 2012. For the last year and a half, MFI has been working on new tooling to improve the look, feel and quality of our fireplaces. The product strength has also improved. You will notice a color change and a more rough porous texture that will allow the mortar to adhere more easily.
                 New Unit

The assembly of the fireplace remains consistent with the earlier version except for the two piece lintel. It is structurally supported by a horizontal ‘T’ Bar. Instructions will be revised to reflect this change. This change will occur throughout the month of March and should be completed as our inventories of the earlier version are depleted. Models that are affected are the MFP33, MFP39, MFP44 and MFP49.
We have updated our 10 year limited warranty to a limited lifetime warranty. This will be reflected in our new, updated manuals. We are working on new products to be announced soon.
